Meet your orthodontist

Dr. Ledjo Palo, DMD, MS

Dr. Palo earned his dental degree at the UConn School of Dental Medicine, then completed a master’s degree and specialty training in orthodontics.

He knows what it feels like to sit in the chair: he wore braces and Invisalign himself, and that experience is what drew him to orthodontics. He founded Dynamic Smiles as a doctor-owned practice so every patient gets the same doctor, the same care and a plan built around them, not a production line.

Outside the office you’ll find him hiking, mountain biking or trying a new restaurant somewhere in Connecticut.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

An orthodontist diagnoses and corrects crooked teeth and bite problems, using braces, clear aligners, expanders and retainers. Orthodontists are dentists who complete additional years of specialty training focused only on tooth movement, so for straightening teeth they’re usually the better fit. Your general dentist still handles cleanings and fillings during treatment. Learn more about Dr. Palo’s training.

Braces and Invisalign costs depend on how much movement your teeth need and how long treatment takes. Nationally, comprehensive braces often cost several thousand dollars, and fees in Connecticut vary by practice and by case. You’ll get an exact, written quote at your free consultation, along with what your insurance covers. We offer monthly payment plans, and your monthly amount depends on your total fee, any down payment and the plan length. [CONFIRM: payment plan terms, e.g. down payment and plan length] Our financing page explains how costs work.

We accept HUSKY as well as Delta Dental, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, MetLife, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Guardian, Teamsters and many other plans. HUSKY coverage for braces depends on medical necessity, and we’ll check your eligibility and benefits for you. See how insurance covers orthodontist visits.

Look for an orthodontic specialist you’ll see at every visit, recent and detailed patient reviews, clear written costs and an office close enough for regular appointments. A free consultation is the easiest way to compare. Our guide on how to choose an orthodontist walks through the questions to ask.

Yes. Many families bring children in for a screening around age 7. Most kids don’t need treatment that early, but a check lets Dr. Palo spot jaw and spacing problems while they’re easiest to correct. Read what age a child should first see an orthodontist or learn about early orthodontic treatment.

Yes. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, and adults are a large share of our patients. Clear aligners and ceramic braces make treatment discreet. Read whether you’re too old for braces and our guide to adult orthodontics.

We’re at 315 Center Rock Green, Suite 10, in Oxford, CT 06478, with free parking right outside. Families from Seymour, Naugatuck, Southbury and Middlebury are usually here in about 10 to 15 minutes.
